TITLE: Workers' Compensation Tehnician I in Jefferson city
SALARY: 962.50 - 1,213.50 Semi-Monthly
Duties/Responsibilities:
This is technical work in the Workers' Compensation Division involving the securing and evaluation of information required for the processing of claims, first reports of injury and ancillary documents. An employee in this class issues determination of eligibility or denial of awards/settlements based on statutes, rules and regulations. Work also involves interviewing and drafting correspondence to victims, providers, law enforcement agencies, attorneys or prosecutors to obtain information; entering applications/claims into the computer system; and assisting claimants and other concerned parties with the application/claim process.
Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or GED certificate and eighteen months of experience as a Workers' Compensation Trainee. Interested parties without work experience in the Division of Workers' Compensation must have at least thirty months of technical or clerical experience processing insurance claims, reviewing police reports, criminal history reports or closely related areas.
