Prevailing Wage Rates Set for Missouri State Highways and Transportation Construction Projects
General Wage Order #50 Now in Effect
Jefferson City, MO – The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations’ Division of Labor Standards has established prevailing wage rates for use on all Missouri State Highways and Transportation construction projects. The new rates went into effect on August 4, 2006.
Each year, the Division of Labor Standards provides a general wage order to the Missouri State Highways and Transportation Commission on or before July 1. The General Wage Order lists prevailing wage rates for Missouri State Highways and Transportation Commission construction projects in each county. The prevailing wage is the rate that must be paid to workers on Missouri State Highways and Transportation construction projects.
The Division of Labor Standards is responsible for gathering wage information from public and private commercial construction projects statewide on an ongoing basis from contractors, labor organizations and public entities. The wage information is used to determine wage rates for every Missouri county and the city of St. Louis. The most hours reported for a given wage rate for the occupational title in the county becomes the prevailing wage rate.
General Wage Order No. 50 is now in effect. To view General Wage Order No. 50, or for additional information, please visit the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations’ website at http://www.dolir.mo.gov/ls/prevailingwage/general_wage.htm, email prevailingwage@dolir.mo.gov or call (573) 751-3403.
