New Employer Rates

There is a special industry rate for calendar year 2009. Beginning rates for all new employers will be 3.510% except for those in the construction-related industries. The contribution rate for construction will be 3.539%. The contribution rate for non-profit and governmental employers will be 1.30%. The rates for 2009 include a contribution rate adjustment (CRA) increase of 30%.

These rates apply to employers that are not eligible for an experience rate. The tax rates above include applicable contribution rate adjustment.  NOTE:  A reduction of five one-hundredths of one percent (.05) may apply due to the unemployment automation surcharge.
