Jefferson City, MO – This year marks the twelfth anniversary
of the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations’ Governor’s Council
on Disability’s Inclusion Awards.
The Governor’s Council on Disability hosts an Inclusion Awards Reception
each year to honor individuals, businesses, schools and organizations in
Missouri who have contributed to helping persons with disabilities achieve
equal opportunity and independence. The awards are based on contributions
and efforts of inclusion in the areas of employment, education, parenting,
advocacy and community.
Categories for this award include: Employer of the Year; Educator
of the Year; Bob Aldridge Advocate of the Year and Excellence in Universal
Design and Technology. Nominations for these awards are being distributed
statewide to employers, educators, disability advocates, businesses and
organizations. The Inclusion Awards Committee selects recipients
based on the nominees’ leadership and achievements towards inclusion.
