DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS ANNOUNCES APRIL EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Jefferson City, MO - Karen Berendzen, a Claims Technician II with the Division of Employment Security's Jefferson City Regional Claims Center is the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations' April Employee of the Month.  Berendzen was selected for her extensive knowledge and background in unemployment insurance.

On a regular basis, Berendzen is responsible for securing and evaluating information required to process state and federal unemployment insurance claims.  Her work includes investigating and adjudicating disputed claims, verifying eligibility for payments and complying with all state and federal unemployment insurance laws.

According to her colleagues, Berendzen is, "dedicated, follows through with customers and always gives 110 percent."
