PAT SECREST NAMED WORKERS' COMPENSATION DIRECTOR Jefferson City, MO - Governor Elect Matt Blunt today appointed
Pat Secrest to serve as the new Director of the Division of Workers' Compensation
in the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
Secrest served in the Missouri House from 1991-2003, representing part
of St. Louis County. During her tenure in the house, Secrest played
a monumental role in passing legislation to reform the workers' compensation
system. Secrest is also an entrepreneur, founding three small businesses
with her husband, John.
"My goal at the Division will be to make our state's workers' compensation
system a positive tool for workplace safety for Missouri employees, and
a positive asset for economic competitiveness for our state's employers.
Positive job growth in Missouri is a win-win situation for employees, employers,
taxpayers and governmental units across the state. I'm thrilled to
be having an opportunity to help make the "Jobs for Missouri" vision an
expanding reality in the next four years," said Pat Secrest.
Secrest received a bachelor of science degree from the University of
Missouri-Columbia and a master of arts degree from Washington University.
