Jefferson City, MO – The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations’
Research and Analysis section has been recognized for timeliness and overall
excellence in the collection and processing of the federal Occupational
Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Work-Related Injury and Illness
Data Collection survey results.
Ethel Jackson, senior economist of the Office of Statistical Analysis
with OSHA, presented a group of employees from the Department’s Research
and Analysis section with certificates of excellence in recognition of
meeting all time related milestones and outstanding performance and contribution
to the OSHA 2001 Log Data Collection survey.
Missouri was among nine other states to receive the certificate for
timeliness and seven other states to receive the certificate for overall
excellence. “The Research and Analysis section has worked diligently
over the past few years to streamline the Work-Related Injury and Illness
Data Collection survey for Missouri employers. Their dedication and
efforts to improve survey results has proven successful and this group
is extremely deserving of these awards. It is unusual for a state
to win two awards at one time,” said Catherine B. Leapheart, director of
the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
